"Het is werkelijk waar." dan is dat boek waarschijnlijk helemaal goed.
Voor IE-ers is Piet Mondriaan voor alles het voorbeeld van de verlopen maar herleefde kunstenaar: auteursrecht verlopen, maar door de duurrichtlijn en Phil Collins herleefd en hersteld Voor niet IE-ers is het werk van Mondriaan vooral een veelgebruikt dessin en een tot het publieke domein gerekende stijl-icoon. En zo te zien zijn de erven Mondriaan dan ook niet geraadpleegd over de onderstaande bewerking:

Is art 25 d Auteurswet van toepassing? Levend kunstwerk beschadigd in ziekenhuis. Het levend kunstwerk dat zich Fabiola noemt is in zijn woning aan het Waterlooplein ernstig mishandeld. De van oorsprong Vlaming ligt nog in het ziekenhuis met een ernstige verwonding aan zijn oog.
Fabiola had een vage kennis toegang verschaft tot zijn huis. De jongen verklaarde ruzie met zijn vriendin te hebben gehad en buiten de deur te zijn gezet. An Argentine artist is opening an exhibition of photographs he's collected from the dustbins of Buenos Aires. Pablo Cruz Aguire has selected 1,500 pictures from the thousands he's collected over the last 15 years. The exhibition shows a huge variety of pictures taken from the turn of the 20th century to the present day. Mr Aguire told Clarin online: "I have 800 pictures of a tango dancer from when he was three until he was 80. "I also have one of Juan and Evita Peron that has a stain that looks like blood on it." The pictures can be seen online at www.fotosencontradas.com.ar before it goes on display in a Buenos Aires museum.

Assembly-line robots can do more than just build cars. A European art group claims they can draw, dance, even DJ a party.
Robotlab acquires industrial robots -- the metal arms on factory floors that wield welding torches and other manufacturing tools -- and reprograms them to become performers in public spaces. Some of the reprogrammed beasts spin tunes, others paint, and still others perform intricate dances to music.
"Sometimes the artistic community looks at us as something very technical, and then the engineers think we are very artistic -- it is really something like a mixture," said Jan Zappe, who co-founded robotlab in 2000. Zappe, 35, studied chemistry and philosophy. His cohorts include a robotics engineer and a graphics designer.
Although the robots can weigh 820 pounds and are designed to make everything from cars to bulldozers, they can be remarkably supple, with more than enough finesse to draw on canvas.
For one installation, the group retooled a KR 125/2 robot with a pen instead of a pneumatic hammer, and placed it in front of an easel. Human participants sat still while a video camera in the robot's arm sent a digital image to a computer, which sent an analysis of the image to the arm, which then drew the portrait.
Another traveling project trained the arms to mimic the scratching movements of DJs. At one event the robo DJ selected the music and decided when to scratch. Zappe said the robot's timing and choice of music were "not very harmonic." So the robotlab crew reprogrammed the machine to help it place the scratches at more appropriate times.
The machines can even dance. Using 7-foot industrial robots, robotlab organized a dance troupe with Swiss choreographer Pablo Ventura. Being all arms, literally, the robots couldn't traverse the stage, but human performers enhanced their show.
Zappe said robotlab hopes, within the next year, to collaborate with electronic music pioneer Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk. "This will be something like a man-machine collaboration, but it's still in development now," said Zappe.
"All our projects have two sides: the artistic and ideas side and the technical side," Zappe said. "Every project is a new invention
Een Australische rechter heeft afgelopen vrijdag 3 december een getuigenverklaring geacccepteerd, die Kazaa's positie in haar strijd met een groot aantal platenmaatschappijen, kan schaden.
De getuige, George Barker, hoofd van het Australian National University's Center for Law and Economics, Intellectual Property and Copyright, verklaarde dat Kazaa 'de regels bepaalt, en de mogelijkheden vergemakkelijkt voor het uitwisselen van auteursrechtelijk beschermde werken'. Barker wees er verder nog op dat Kazaa verdient aan het ongeoorloofd uitwisselen van auteursrechtelijk beschermd materiaal en dat een en ander flinke schade aan de economie toebrengt.
In Nederland heeft de Hoge Raad de Kazaa's uitwisselingsprogramma toelaatbaar geacht.
Lidstaten van de WIPO zijn bezig met een verdrag tot actualisering van de IE-standaarden voor uitzendorgansities in het digitale tijdperk. Onderhandelingen hierover hebben plaatsgevonden tijdens een vergadering van de twaalfde sessie van de Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) in Geneve die plaatsvond van 17 t/m 19 november 2004. Afgevaardigden hebben substantiele voortgang geboekt in het verkleinen van standpuntverschillen op kernpunten zoals is vastgelegd in de Revised Consolidated Text of treaty proposals.
