Jurist wint UvA-scriptieprijs 2013
Vicky Breemen, inmiddels als promovenda werkzaam aan het Instituut voor Informatierecht (IviR), heeft de UvA-scriptieprijs 2013 gewonnen. Zij kreeg de prijs vanmiddag uitgereikt door juryvoorzitter Frank van Vree tijdens de slotmanifestatie van de jaarlijkse Universiteitsdag in de Oudmanhuispoort. (...)De scriptie van Vicky Breemen ging over de auteursrechtelijke aspecten bij de digitalisering van bibliotheken. Ze studeerde er cum laude op af. Wat heet?! Ze kreeg er het zeer zeldzame cijfer 10 voor, een uitzonderlijke prestatie waarvoor ze eerder al de Victorine van Schaickprijs NVB 2012 ontving.
Van Vree zei dat haar scriptie ‘de kwaliteit van een dissertatie nadert’. ‘De scriptie leest als een volwaardige bijdrage aan de wetenschappelijke discussie op dit vakgebied.’ De scriptie was bovendien geschreven ‘in voortreffelijk Engels, met gedegen bronnenonderzoek en zeer multidisciplinair’.
Bartosz Sujecki verbonden aan Boels Zanders
Bartosz Sujecki (1975) is sinds 2010 werkzaam als advocaat en sinds 2013 verbonden aan Boels Zanders. Hij is lid van de specialisatie Handelsrecht en van de German Desk. Bartosz is gespecialiseerd in het Duits-Nederlandse grensoverschrijdende rechtsverkeer. Daarnaast adviseert en procedeert hij over alle aspecten van het intellectuele eigendomsrecht, met nadruk op het octrooirecht.
Simmons & Simmons has appointed Hidde Koenraad, [tevens kernredacteur IE-Forum.nl], as a partner in its Intellectual Property team in Amsterdam. The appointment is subject to the usual regulatory approval.
Hidde joins from the Dutch IP boutique firm Vondst Advocaten and is recognised as a leading lawyer in the field of ‘soft’ IP. He has wide experience in advising and litigating on intellectual property law, including trade mark, design and copyright law and domain name disputes. Hidde is also one of the few lawyers in Europe who specialise in plant variety right law.
Annemieke Kooy en Sofie van der Meulen bij Axon advocaten, tevens winnaar gouden zandloper social media policy
Axon Lawyers, an Amsterdam based boutique law firm that specifically targets the life sciences sector, announces the hire of two new lawyers with a view to expanding its practice in the biopharmaceutical, medical devices and food sectors.
Annemieke Kooy joins Axon from BarentsKrans lawyers where she practiced in intellectual property with a focus on medicinal products. Among other things she has specific advisory and litigation expertise relating to supplementary protection certificates and was involved in regulatory proceedings regarding marketing authorisations for several blockbuster medicinal products.
Sofie van der Meulen has a background in public administration and as a regulatory / legal consultant in the life sciences sector. She has specific experience in EU and Dutch law regulatory advice and litigation relating to food, biocides and medical devices.
