The General World Cup Law

Article 3 states that the Brazilian Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) promotes the annotation of the trademarks related to the Official Symbols of FIFA in their records. These are: the FIFA emblem, emblems of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the FIFA World Cup 2014, official mascots of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and the FIFA World Cup.

Article 4 states that the INPI recognizes in accordance with a list provided, and updated at any time by the FIFA, trademarks notoriously recognized as of FIFA proprietorship.

Under Article 6, INPI informs the list of trademarks of high importance and trademarks of notorious recognition to Dot BR – NIC.br for the purpose of rejection of domain names with expressions or terms identical to trademarks of FIFA or similar

Article 7 establishes a special regime adopted by INPI for the registration of trademarks by FIFA until December 31, 2014.

Article 12 states that the FIFA is the exclusive holder of all rights related to images, sounds and other forms of expression of events. ...
