At least two weeks prior to the event, the participants will be divided into groups and will be furnished with a short case along with their assigned role of either claimant or defendant. The members of the individual groups are strongly encouraged to get in touch with each other to discuss the case, structure their arguments and elect two group members to plead at the hearings. At the event itself, one hour will be allocated for further preparation of the arguments. Following this, the teams that have been assigned to the same case (as claimant, respectively defendant) will plead against each other. The judges will provide feedback after each individual hearing and pick the winning team after all cases have been pleaded.
